Excellent tables for the price but watch out for flaws in the finsh
I purchased a Laurent Hall Console Table, a Coffee Table and an End Table all on the same day. The end table arrived first and was easy to assemble and the finish was flawless. The coffee table arrived several days later and it also was easy to assemble but it had a small split in the wood on one edge that required gluing but it was acceptable. The Console Table was another story. When it arrived I took it out of the box with the table top facing down and assembled it. When I set the table upright I found that it had a major flaw in the top of he table. The flaw was a rather large split where the finished wood was not even present. Not that it would have made a difference but I checked the box and could not even find the split off piece so this table was shipped from the factor with the flaw. Because this flaw made the table totally unacceptable, I had to disassemble it, box it back up and ship it back. Complicating the whole thing was that the first representative I spoke with at about the return was suppose to email me a UPS return tag, arrange for the table to be picked up and order me a new table. This rep didn't do any of the above and I had to call a second time. The second rep took care of everything but I'm still waiting on the replacment table (scheduled to arrive tomorrow) and hopefully this replacement table will be flawless. Please note that my problems with the first rep did not impact my product rating but I was very surprised that two of the 3 tables I ordered had flaws in the finished wood. So, if you're ordering this table or any other Laurent table I would highly recommend that you VERY carefully look the table over for flaws before you assemble it. Do I like the tables? Yes, Would I buy them again? Yes. Just be careful and don't accept sub-standard products.
