We made a few changes to this item,overall it is good Just got this bed in and we set it up right away for our boys. It was a smooth and easy process. The grey is a cool ash or chalk grey. My boys love it and we do too. The top bunk isnt super high so for short ceilings its perfect. He still has a lot of room up top to move around without having to worry about hitting his head. Definitely would recommend again. Non of the wood was damaged or anything.
