A great sofa for the price

This sofa arrived in 2 separate packages 1 day apart. FedEx handled the shipment. Tracking information was provided. As stated in the instruction manual, the couch is brand new, doesnt have any stains or bugs or any nonsense you wouldnt expect from purchasing a new piece of furniture. The cushions came vacuum packed and regained their shape with no problem. There was no chemical smell that I could detect at all. The second package arrived and contained these 1 by 1 wooden beams covered in fabric to protect the package from deformation. They must have worked because the beams were bowed but the couch was in perfect condition. My package shipped from Jersey to South Carolina. I checked the entire couch for quality once all the pieces arrived. Everything passed. Upon assembly, the included screwdriver helped tremendously in tightening down the bolts. When it came time to thread the hex nuts onto the bolts to attach 2 of the seat portions together, unfortunately I had to reach for my tool box and use a wrench to hold the hex nuts in place so the bolts would be tight enough. A wrench was not included with this couch and should have been in my opinion. I had a pair of channellocks so it was fine. I got it all assembled in an hour. The seats are awesome! They are firm and have some bounce to them. Super soft couch cushions are the worst, they make my back hurt after sitting for a long time. These cushions are very comfortable. Now onto the back cushions. They are a bit on the softer side for my liking. I think some inner springs could have benefited these as well like the seat cushions have. If you are the type of person to plop yourself down on the couch, dont. If you press your back hard enough against the back cushions you can definitely feel the wooden support beam behind you. The back portions were pretty easy to install as well. Just make sure you slide both sides down at the same time. It should slide in smoothly and click in place. If you feel like its not sliding correctly, stop, take it out, and try again. The chaise is reversible, but the ottoman does not attach to the couch itself. I though it would be a pain to move around my living room, but with all the cushions in place, it all moved as one unit! I was very pleased with this. Please note that I have vinyl plank floors. The couch legs came with those soft furniture mover pad things already attached to the bottom. Not sure how this couch will move on carpet or rugs. Since the arms attach with 4 bolts down at the bottom of the unit, the arms tend to feel a little loose even after tightening down the bolts pretty hard. I recommend grabbing the couch by the top and sliding it around that way. Dont pull or push on the arms, they will flex in a way that makes you want to stop lol. That being said, using the couch as intended, the arms feel fine. On the same note, so NOT sit on the arms. I tried it, and it wasnt sturdy enough for my weight of 180 pounds. Dont let your kids stand on the arms and jump onto the couch like I used to do as a green horn lol. The chaise and ottoman section are very comfortable to lie on, but if you are super tall your legs will hang off. This isnt a full size couch, hence the price point, but still its mad comfortable. I look forward to relaxing when I get home now. All in all a very comfortable and affordable couch from a great seller. Any shipping issues I had was from FedEx, not the seller. They delivered the second half of my package at the wrong apartment... I looked outside when it said delivered, saw it way down yonder, ran over, lifted this 50 pound box, hauled it to my house, and got to work Some notes for the seller: I would have liked to see a wrench included with this couch. Not everyone has tools on hand. Could have also welded the hex nuts in place. I would have also liked to have an extra 2 square cushions. If 2 extra cushions were included, I would be able to separate the ottoman from the couch. I guess I could use the chaise as a cushion to span the 2 seats, freeing up the square cushion for the ottoman, but the chaise has that notch in it, so i think it would be a little awkward. Plus, this couch isnt advertised to do so. I didnt see that option in the pictures anyway... Lastly, I think the arms need more bolts or support brackets in the upper portion. Once the back is installed, it would have been nice to see some sort of upper support for the arms that attaches to the back. Make sure you tighten all the bolts down pretty firm. Dont strip em, but do your best. If I can buy 2 more cushions separately, I will. Let me know!
