It was easy to assemble with just a screwdriver, and as you can see I did have a little help but they did nearly nothing, LOL. The directions were very easy to follow and I had this put together in less than an hour.
The only problem with this item is that it doesnt scoot back all the way in the corner due to the baseboards and will tip easily if not careful. The item does come with anchors to prevent that but they did not work due to the space between the shelf and the walls because of the baseboards. Luckily I do not have children running around to have to worry about that.
Overall, I love this item and for the use I am getting from it, its definitely a keeper. Enjoyed it.
