My husband put the bed together as well as moved it to our room by himself so it is great for someone that may not have help with putting it together. Its very low to the ground, Id say only a foot and a half high. This isnt an issue for us, but I know it may for some. Its made of very sturdy wood. The slats are connected to the bed by velcro so as not to move, and the slats also have a non/stick tape strip on them so that your mattress doesnt shift around. I took off one star because the sized frame seems to be just a little bit too short for our mattress, but it really isnt a huge deal. has won themselves a continual customer. Buy it again.
