The bunkbed was packaged quite well and I noticed no issues with scuffing. The project was a little intimidating as you slowly sort out the parts from the nults/bolts for assembly. The big thing to pay attention to are the bolt holes for the support bars (not round bars). Make sure these face either in toward each other or up, that will save time and adult language during the process.
Outside of that, I was able to get this assembled by myself in about an hour. Outside of the tip above, the other tip would be to actually listen to the directions in terms of not fully tightening all bolts as you will run into issues fitting in/on some support pieces.
It looks great in the boys room and we have not had any issue with annoying noise as they hop on and off the bed.
