    Stuck Back Latch Help

Latch Help: When assembling this chair, my husband and I attempted to slide the back female glider (shown) into the male glider part which is attached to the chair base. We slid and heard one click. The left side completed its journey into the glider and clicked. It was latched. However, the right side did not click and latch. It took us a minute to determine that the female part on the latch glider needs to be lifted from the male part using a medium to large flat head screw driver. In the photo above, you can see the part on the chair back with the female part which clicks. It hangs below when upright, or left in the photo, from the square with the circle missing from it. While it is latched in the chair, this is the part that needs to be lifted in order to slide the back off of the base of the chair. Finally, realign the two gliders and snap both into place. It was helpful for me to sit behind the chair and glide one side in about an inch and then the other side until there were two audible clicks. Review: My initial impression is that I might purchase another chair. The chair is not solid as a traditional LyBoy recliner. It glides more than rocks back and forth. It is upon a swivel base. It is comfortable to lay backwards. It seems to lay a flat one hundred and eighty degrees compared to LyBoy which keeps the torso tilted up at a forty five or less degree angle. I found returning the leg rest to its original position to be a bit stiff and took some effort. Im concerned that the handle which controls the footrest may not stand the test of time. Im sure my two children will give it a run for my money. At half the cost of purchasing a new LyBoy chair with shipping, Im happy with my purchase. Ill try to update this review after the chair has seen some use. Good product and definitely a value of a purchase.
