Can hold up to 300 lbs and two children can comfortably sit on the bench. It is strong and sturdy. I believe the base is made out of steel. The cushion is possibly a faux leather and is easy to clean and great quality. It goes beautiful as an addition to a dining table for more room/seating. I am surprised their arent more reviews and photos. Looks atmospheric
