This futon was truly a deal and fits well in my office. Since I work from home it is a welcome addition to when company comes in and they have somewhere comfy to sit or lay. I got a cheap pillow from Ross as it doesnt have arms but its one less thing to break for kids. As long this futon is against a wall you shouldnt have any wear and tear issues in my opinion from opening and closing it
