Overall, this is a solid chair for the price. I was very disappointed to find that it has a California Prop 65 warning label for cancer and reproductive harm. This was not listed anywhere on the product page nor in the reviews or questions and answers about this product. If I had known, I would NOT have put this item on my baby registry since Id planned on using it in my babys nursery. The label is pretty well hidden on the bottom of the rocking portion of the chair.
Outside of that, the chair is comfortable and it rocks well. Im (the wife) 52 and I find the massagers at a good height. My husband is 6 and found the same. He thinks itd be nice to have a blanket over the top of the rocker as a headrest since theres no pillow there. The massagers are a little loud. Its a quiet rumbling if youre not the one sitting in the chair, but if you are, you can hear them pretty loudly since its closer to your ears. Not a deal breaker, but definitely a little louder than the more expensive massage chairs you would find at the fancy name brand furniture stores. A few odd/potentially important things to note from the manual: (1) it says you shouldnt use this chair for longer than 30 minutes at a time, (2) it says you shouldnt use this chair if you have a pacemaker, and (3) it says you should unplug the chair when not in use. When I mentioned this to my husband (whos an engineer) he said it might be because this unit might overheat easily--whatever the reason, it doesnt scream durable if its listing these recommendations in the manual.
It was fairly easy to build with two people. The hardest part was adjoining the backrest with the bottom portion of the chair. Like others have recommended, its helpful to have a flashlight or cellphone light to make sure youre aligning the screws properly.
