I wanted something for the end of our master bed. This served a couple of purposes, first we have a cat and dog that are older and I had an ottoman at the end of our bed for them to jump on the bed, this looks much better and is approximately the same height. Second, we needed something to sit on when we put shoes on, again serves that purpose. The bonuses are that we have some storage although I havent put anything in there yet (one reason is the arms or parts that allow the lid to come up and down had grease on them and I havent cleaned them yet, I dont want to get anything on the stuff I put in there) but it is an ample amount of space. Another bonus it matched the rug I already had in the room. I did get the soft beige and it is a pretty color and truly is a soft beige not pink but more of a light tan. One thing to note, when we put it together the hydraulics or whatever is keeping the tension on the lifting arms makes it appear like the lid wont stay closed. My husband almost made me return it, but once you put the side portions on they hold the lid down. We didnt not have any damage, just one staple kind of sticking out but I just pushed it back into the fabric and its fine. It was a little stinky when I first opened but that went away quickly and I sprayed it with Febreeze to help the smell go away. For the price, I really like it and think it was a good purchase.
