We needed a chair that would have the qualities of a recliner for the outdoors....capable of elevating the legs, reclining the back, folding compactly for storage, and withstanding the exterior exposure of a lanai setting. This chair has reasonably satisfied all of these criteria. It is very close to the experience of using a recliner with comfortable positioning and with head and shoulder support. The material is smooth and high quality and appears to be able to withstand the dampness and exposure of a covered lanai. It is great for an afternoon nap!
It took some time to master how to unfold and setup the chair. We had to view the video on the site to ge the knack of where to pull and extend the segments of the chair. But we did master it. In addition, you have to get the knack of getting the chair to recline. Unlike most recliners, you do not push on the arms, but push with your feet to extend the reclining feature. The chair does fold easily into a compact unit permitting it to be moved to the garage for off-season storage.
We liked the chair so much that we ordered a second one. So obviously, we are pleased. The aqua color is a deep turquoise and lends a tropical flair to the lanai. We do have some concerns that the chair will last over time. Sometimes the locking mechanism seems rickety and could be prone to breaking. So far, there are not problems, but we treat it gently.
