The instructions are very easy to follow, so assembly was a snap. The wood is good quality, too. The front of the drawers are fabric and match the headboard and footboard. The sides and the bottoms of drawers are made of a thin plastic, perhaps plexiglass. The drawers dont have tracks, they roll on the floor. We set the bed on carpet, and the drawers rolled smoothly. There is no lip on the bed to stop the mattress from sliding..I certainly wouldnt let children jump on the bed. I think its a nice bed and were pleased with it.
