The stand itself is nice when finished but the building process can be easy to make a mistake and you may have to fix some things so have your tools ready. More details below...
- Check your box before opening it that you got the correct color. I opened the box and began taking pieces out when I remembered I ordered black and this was dark brown. I didnt mind the color or care enough to put it back and try to return it but take note to check before you open it.
- It was difficult in the instructions to immediately tell which way a piece went. Be careful because you might make a mistake with a piece that you cant undo. I had piece 5 upside down when connecting to piece 4 but was able to catch my mistake and fix.
- Glue is included and designed to be used with the dowels. However, Im pretty sure this is regular glue and not wood glue so its not a very secure add.
- The dowels seem too small. dowels are often just as large as the hole so you have to force them. These however are a smaller diameter than the hole and just drop in. In addition, they go in very deep into the part, so only a small portion is sticking out. I dont know if this is to accommodate glue and I didnt use enough or what. I dont have much confidence that the are dowels are doing much.
- There was an issue where one of the screwholes in part 7 was not drilled deep enough. I had to use a drill to correct this. So be prepared you may have to get a drill and bits to fix issues like this. It was annoying since it needed to be a 1/8 deeper than it actually was.
Good but questionable parts
