great height, very sturdy, but railings are too low and it was a nightmare to assemble
This is my 9 year old sons bed. It took me, my 13 year old son, and my 9 year old son about five hours to put together. It was a nightmare. Several of the holes werent in the exact right place. We had to do a strange back and forth of loosening and removing other screws to get the next piece to fit. We could get that screw down half way and then we had to put the other screw back on and tighten it down 75 of the way, but it wouldnt go any further. Then we had to remove another screw completely, and the first screw would go down all the way. Then we put the third screw back in 50 of the way, and the second screw could finally go down completely. And on and on. It was horrible! But, in the end, we got it together with the help of my power drill. My other MAJOR concern is that his mattress from IKEA is flush with the railing. If he didnt have this tent on the top, we would have to return the bed because he would definitely roll off the bed. The railings are very very low compared to his mattress. Thankfully, this tent SAVED the bed. It makes it be awesome overall. He loves the sleeping and playing areas of his special bed. The space underneath is perfect for his toy storage from IKEA. We plan on installing a wall fan, wall mounted cup holder, and wall mounted surge protector for him to plug in his ipad and other things while on the top bunk. Also, the sturdiness is very impressive.
