    Hmm.

This was probably the most unnecessarily difficult item of furniture Ive ever built. The holes do not align quite right, and fabric covers some of them from poor craftsmanship. So it is extremely difficult to attach the pieces to each other, especially because they need to be balanced and held into place while you struggle to find the holes. I was trying to do it alone and had a small tantrum out of frustration. Not cute, but I had had a real long week and just wanted this to be done. Anyway, I had to get my [more mature than me] six year old to help me, but it was hard for them to hold the pieces up. Would have been easier but still difficult with two adults. Maybe a headlamp would have helped? Idk. Its hard to see the screws/holes. I have built couches by myself before, so I dont think it was unreasonable for me to think I could have done so again. Alas, I got it done and almost wept with joy. Until I realized how short the couch is. I know it is mentioned in other reviews, but it is SHORT. Like, you sit back and almost HAVE to put your arms over the top of the couch to be comable. (Im 57) The arms are so short they might as well not be there. I added several pillows to make sitting on the side feel more stable. The cushions themselves are quite comable, but after only a couple of weeks theyre getting dented in the spot people tend to sit in. Hoping to be able to do something about that. It is very comfy for naps though. Except that the arms slip off constantly. Im going to Velcro them down. Also the legs are ugly, and have sharp edges. I have hit my toes on them a couple of times and it was very painful. Im going to attach wooden legs, which will fix that problem, and I think make the couch look a lot nicer. It is a decent looking couch, and I think that I like it but I ordered after reading all the reviews thinking that maybe that the negative ones were exaggerated. Theyre not. Its all true. Considering all the things Im going to do to make it better, Id rather have spent more money on a nicer couch. But, I have a small kid and know that any couch wont last forever around them. If this couch can last me five years, Ill be satisfied. I do really, really wish the back and arms were higher though.
