Assembled without help, Adjustments for memory foam mattress. Read for tips
I assembled this bed frame single/handedly because it was a birthday surprise for my spouse.
Recommendations: Do not fully tighten the screws in the sub/assemblies. I had trouble attaching the head and foot to the mattress base because they were so tight. I had to loosen everything a little bit and squeeze the ABCD parts in so I could reach the screw holes(Its also possible that I had to do this due to the manufacturers imperfect drilling of the screw holes in the ABCD parts). It was almost impossible to get the screws in there but I kept fighting it and managed to get them in.
I recommend tightening everything once the head and foot are attached to the base. Even if you tighten them to begin with I would go back and re/tighten them once everything is set at its proper angle.
I do not recommend attaching the top frame without help(It says this in the manual but I didnt have the option of extra hands). I can attest that it is possible but I honestly dont know how I managed to do it in a room with no more than 2.5 feet on any side of the bed. It was a massive struggle(at least for the King size). Nearly put a hole in my door and accrued multiple bruises. Make sure you dont put in on upside down
The slide/in attachments for the base do not seem sturdy enough. However, once the mattress is on it spreads out the weight enough for me to feel like it is not a problem. Since my mattress is memory foam I put down sheets of cardboard across the base under the mattress so the mattress isnt pressed into the spaces between the slide/in bars. This seems to have been perfect to support the memory foam and even helps spread out weight.
As with everything, you get what you pay for. This was the most inexpensive quality bed frame I could find for what I needed it for. It met my expectations. The only thing I would change would be to make the slide in bars with a thicker metal(such as the metal in the ABCD parts which are very sturdy). For the price I am very happy with my purchase!
