Great stool once you get it together

This stool is strong and sturdy. The wood on mine looks great. It's functional and good looking. Assembly comes with challenges that can be overcome. Hex screws are provided to secure the components, along with a small hex wrench. The screws are hard to line up properly, and can be very hard to turn with the provided wrench. The wrench is small and doesn't offer a lot of leverage. The screws go in to pre-drilled holes into the end of dowels that hold the legs together.. The fit is very tight, which is good news in terms of strength. Just take care to line them up straight or you may get stuck essentially trying to augur out a new hole. The hardest part can be the final tightening which can be extremely hard. You can do two things that help. One (will be obvious) is to hold onto the dowel with one hand while you work the wrench with the other hand to stop the dowel from turning. Two, use your own hand held hex screw driver for a stronger grip. Or, use a lock wrench or vice grip wrench to hold and turn the provided hex wrench and it will go much easier with the extra leverage. Once together the stool feels and looks like it is extraordinarily sturdy.
