My little fella has arthritis in his front paws for sure and this tree is so accessible for him. He takes his time going up and down and loves to bask on the top cushion/tuffet. Im really glad I chose this tree; its been years since hes had a tree that was TALL so this was a difficult choice for me to make because its admitting my little fella is aging; hes 10 btw I love him SO MUCH and hes really handling the adjustment to have a mini tree very very well. Go for it, your older kitty will love it.
