Great if youre short. Not if youre tall. But can make more comfortable.

On a scale of overall couch comfortability, 0 being intolerable and 5 being the most luscious couch youve ever been on, this couch is a 3 out of 5. But considering the price point of the couch, Id bump it up to a 4 out of 5 because of the affordability to comfort ratio. I think this couch is very comfortable. But Im 5 3 and fit almost anywhere. My fiance, who is 6ft tall, really didnt like this couch at first, but after I made some alterations he started to feel more comfortable. Below, Im gonna explain everything that was wrong with the couch and how I fixed it to make it more comfortable. My fiance could not lay down comfortably because the couch cushions would slump down or shift under his weight (I did not experience this issue when sitting by myself, but since he is taller and heavier than me things would shift around when he sat, especially if we sat down together). The only way he could feel comfortable was by sitting upright. If he tried resting on the L part of the couch, the leg/rest would shift around since it was detached from the rest of the couch, causing the large cushion to slump over because it has a little portion that overhangs off the edge of the couch (see photo of leg/rest for reference). This part that sticks out is supposed to rest on top of the leg/rest, but the leg/rest is not fixed in place and moves, so the cushion would slump down and slide off, creating a domino effect with all the other cushions sliding down and shifting. The couch cushions oddly dont match the couch dimensions, seeing as the cushion for the actual leg/rest is a bit short. I guess to accommodate the overhanging cushion, but the design makes no sense to me. How did I fix this issue? LOTS OF VELCRO. I put velcro on the leg/rest to attach it to the rest of the couch and keep it in place. The couch cushion that goes on top of the leg/rest already had velcro, so the whole leg/rest doesnt shift anymore. I also added velcro under the longer couch cushion with the weird overhang so that it doesnt slide forward under our weight (by sliding forward, it would push the leg/rest away from the couch). So now that also stays in place. The shorter couch cushion already had its own velcro, so no problems there. And finally, I added velcro to all three of the back cushions (see photo for reference) so they also could stay in place and not sag into the bottom cushions and force those to slump forward. Added some extra throw pillows, and voila, a lounge/able comfortable couch. This couch has its design defects, but it is sturdy, the cushions are comfortable, it looks nice, and doesnt take up too much space. Once I made these small changes, Ive been very happy with it.
