Away from the color being a bit more faded light wood, the bed looks same as the photo. It took me about 55 mins to complete the assembly and I am small and doughy. So, doesnt need a full pack of muscle to maneuver assembling this item. However, the box it comes it is a bit heavy and would not be movable unless you are using a good hand truck. You would need two people to lift the box for a stair.
If you are looking for a low profile feel, this might not work. It does look that way due to how it is on the photo but the height is a pretty much a regular bed height. To achieve the similar look, you would need to make your bedroom pretty empty.
