Overall, the bed is cute and sturdy. But if my daughter hadnt been so excited for her big girl bed, I would have returned it.
First of all, its packaged with packing peanuts and the wood is not protected at all. The pieces are all stacked on top of each other and the staples that was used to close the box created defects in the wood. See pictures. The packing peanuts were so annoying to clean up and get off the wood pieces. And theyre basically useless anyway. I contacted the seller and was told that they didnt have any other packaging options. They did say theyd replace any damaged pieces, but whats the point if theyre going to package it the same way? Which is why I would have just returned it if my daughter hadnt picked it out and was so excited.
We buffed the damaged pieces and it wasnt so noticeable anymore. But still, the packaging left sooo much to be desired.
Putting this bed together was also a big pain. You need a 6 inch 2 square bit for a drill. Which isnt carried at the big hardware stores (Harbor Freight had a set). It should have been included in the price of the bed. So that was a big hassle. The wood is very soft. My husband said hed highly recommend using a screwdriver for installing the metal brackets since they could strip easily due too finer thread pitch. Also make sure to measure and level because there are no pilot holes. If pilot holes were drilled into the frames, the time to put this bed together would be cut in half.
Also, we got the bed with legs. There werent any directions to assemble the bed with legs. Not that the directions were very useful in general since it was a pdf sent via messages and its just pictures. No written descriptions. They did have videos that you could watch. But those werent super helpful.
The bed turned out cute. But it would have been way less frustrating and much less money to just go and get the wood ourselves.
The seller was quick with communication, but absolutely no help. I wouldnt really recommend purchasing this.
Its cute, but I wouldnt buy again
