We bought this bed for our 8 and 9 year old boys. Our 5 year old occasionally sleeps in the room with them. Its sleep the all comfortably. Sometimes the al pile up on the top bunk. No issues will the slams thus far. No bending or bowing. My only complaint is a couple of the pieces came chipped. The manufacturer merely painted over it and shipped it out. Its very visible. Oh and one of the rails for the top bunk was bowed.
