Its a tossup: the instructions suck, but your kid will be in heaven when its done.
It took well over 3 hours to put together, not including the drive time to Home Depot to pick up extra wood dowels that were not included in the set. Absolutely frustrating. We had to flip the bed around a few times and even unscrew pieces to put them on different sides. My advice: keep everything loose until its completely together, then tighten.
Aside from the chaos of putting it together, its beautiful, sturdy, and should last a long while. Instalation hardware made with very low quality metal.
