My child loves this new bed! The area underneath is a perfect lounge area to read or hide stuffed animals. Added an extra guardrail for peace of mind as we have a thicker mattress, it works perfect. The wood does have a smell that lingers. Also, we put the small window on the same side as the ladder since the opposite side is against the wall. I would definitely buy again.
