After my son spent over 2 hour putting this together (he used power tools too), I realized that the cart/island had a smell that I initially thought was maybe new paint. Now that it has been several days and we can smell it as we enter the house, we believe it to be a chemical smell. I have tried to wipe it down with wood cleaner as well as dish soap with no change in the odor. I love the cart and the size is so perfect that I am hoping that setting it on the deck today while it is nice out the smell will start to go away.
