Assembly instructions were fairly simple and putting things together went well. Conneting the backrest was slightly difficult because of the arc of the steel bar.
After attaching the bolts to either side of the backrest the bow in the middle was just enough to make the length of the bolt too short to screw on the nut. It was necessary to use a piece of cardboard to keep from damaging the surface with a small pair of vicegrips. Clamping down the bar was enough to allow more of the bolt length to attach the nut and tighten it down.
This was necessary to tighten the assembly. Otherwise the bolt was just shy of being long enough to attach the nut to tighten it. Other than that the assembly was a breeze.
There is some spring to the backrest that makes the chair more comfortable. Gave these barstools 4 stars only because of the need to use vicegrips in order to screw on the nut to the backrest assembly.
