When I ordered it, I wondered if it would look cheap or gaudy, but no, it is just plain gorgeous. Yes, you can get a plain black one, but after seeing the decorative silver metal surrounding the glass, I cant imagine going for plain black! The silver is not thin. It not foil or just silver screen printing. It is real cut out metal. Im not sure Id take it camping. It belongs on a breakfast table along with your daily newspaper, a nice napkin and maybe a single flower in a vase! It will turn breakfast into an occasion. On a practical note, it is a real plus that it comes with so many extra filters.
