Love these. Just got it assembled and looks great. It does help to have two people, tight fit on top with full size mattress .We did not need a bunk board. You might ,if you only dont want to see the mattress or sheets. The bottom is a very wide opening, I have one 16 yr old on top and my 15 yr old under in a queen size bed with room for a small night stand on the side. They love it. Great for space savor . Im glad I bought it.
