We've owned this for 2 years and are still happy with the purchase. This bunk bed set is sturdy and well made. There's definitely a low clearance between the bunks and I've hit my head more than once but that doesn't happen to my kids. Nonetheless, I actually like that they're shorter because it's a smaller distance for my older daughter to climb up the ladder and makes it easier for me to change the top bunk bedding. We didn't have trouble with assembly like others on hereIf you have a small house like us, just remember to do the last few assembly steps AFTER you bring the bunk bed into the bedroom. Fully assembled, it would be difficult/impossible to get through a doorway.
