    you wont like these dowels

Beware of assembly. Im a general contractor and competent carpenter. It took me a couple hours to assemble a set of three of these, and doing so was more challenging than the average professional carpentry jobs I do. There are 16 glue joints per stool. Thats a lot. Its tricky pulling all these joints together into a solid piece of furniture. If youve never glue joined furniture before, dont start with these. This is several times harder than assembling furniture and the results are not forgiving because of the of glue. If you are an experienced craftsman, you wont like these dowels. I had to sand every dowel to get a decent dry fit. The dowels were painted, thats why. Dry fitting is essential with these, or youll find out a joint doesnt fit after the glue is already poured. The glue provided is a joke. Dont even consider using it. No idea what it is, but the quantity provided is enough to do 2 or 3 joints...not 16. One stool had badly misaligned dowel joints where the A frames met the seat. I had beat it into submission with a mallet. Not for inexperienced DIY folks. Even though I eventually got these 3 stools built and think the results are OK, I didnt get a bargain. The quality of the wood components was no better than decent. For the money, I had to work too hard to build them.
