Ill dropping it a star as the outside package was beaten up pretty badly and there were some scuffs on the fabric despite the inner package being intact, meaning it came from the factory that way. but other than that this was super easy to assemble. i got a king size. my mattress is 12 and lays directly on the slats, there is plenty of headboard showing (about 10 or so inches). feels pretty sturdy so far and looks great. id recommend it.
