Assembly is very easy. We were really pleased with our bed. We needed a day bed with a trundle so we could have beds for the grandkids. This bed is perfect. My husband had very little trouble putting it together. He did need my help in a few places where fitting two pieces together needed another person to help. It is extremely solid and looks great. the trundle has a board on the edge that covers it up so you dont need a bed ruffle or long bedspread to hid it. I really liked that feature.
