Ok so if I had the choice I would give this bed 4.5 stars but since that is not an option I decided to round up and give it the full 5 stars.
I will start with the pros, my 7 year old daughter is obsessed with this bed. And I have to admit so am I a little bit. We have a small space to work with and this bed is certainly heafty but it checked all of my boxes which included but was not limited to having a bureau built in, and a desk area. These two were a must have. The bureau, though it is only four draws is quite spacious. We can fit lots of clothes in each draw, they are roomy. The desk has a pull on table that opens on top to include extra storage. Its is comes fully equipped with lights. There is a small closet space that we use for her dress up clothes, and right next to the closet is a secret entry for a full fort underneath that my daughter uses for her baby doll nursery. There are storage shelves for books and other Nick knacks as well as the storage boxes. This bed is truly a little girls dream.
Cons: ( the main reason I would take away a half of star) is the ladder! I hate this ladder it is difficult to climb up and hurts the bottom of my feet when I do, however it does not seem to bother either one of my kids so that is why I went ahead and gave it the 5 stars. Maybe its not meant for a 36 year old mom. With that being said my only other con is the assembly. It is lengthy and there were two of us. My husband could of handled this on his own but the extra hands were helpful. If you have help use it. Also and hoping others do no not make the same mistake we made. This bed is heavy and came with lots of pieces. We recieved it in 3 big boxes. Because they were so heavy and we needed to assemble in an upstairs room we opened all the boxes and took all the pieces into the room we were assembling the bed. Huge mistake! The boxes are numbered 1,2,3. Open box number one first and assemble that. Once you finish those instructions you can move to box 2, then 3. This will save you tons of sorting time. We learned this the hard way. But in the end it was worth it. Just as seen in the picture!!!
