We purchased this table for our granddaughters bedroom. We put it in front of a futon that is under her loft bed. It is a very nice looking piece of furniture. It wasnt that easy to assemble due to the screw holes were not predrilled. They were just indentations to show where the screw goes. In addition, when raising and lowering the table top it wobbles. This sort of surprised us. The brackets are rather flimsy. However, it doent interfere with the functionality of the table. I would have given it a solid 5 stars if not for these two issues.
I spent quite a bit of time putting this together by myself; one of the side boards chipped quite easily while trying to assemble but thankfully I was able to secure it with the other connections. It won’t close flat - there’s a gap when I put it down. Someone above suggested using wood glue, I second that. To be honest putting the top on was without a doubt a pain; I wish they had better directions for this and perhaps a different order of doing things especially when it came to assembling the springs and the top. It’s pretty when assembled and if I can figure out how to put the top down flat (coffe table style) I’ll keep it!

This was a Christmas present for my wife to replace a somewhat similar table which had lost the laminated faux mahogany and whose springs had failed.
The order of assembly was important. It was important to follow the instructions closely. Much appreciated were the couple of extra fasteners included to replace any that might be broken during assembly.
One missing assembly step was how to go about installing the very strong springs to the lift mechanism. I felt that there was a real risk of pinched or cut fingers. I solved the problem by securing one end of the mechanism in a bench vice, attaching one end of the spring to the mechanism and securely clamping the other end of the spring in the jaws of a pair of vice grips. Pulling on the vice grips stretched the spring so it would fit over the other peg on the mechanism. If anything had failed my hand and finger were safe.
Believe or not I purchased this in December of 2019 but because of health issues it sat unopened until December 2020. Needless to say I was concerned about any unforseen problems we could run into due to the delay. That did not happen. Every part was there and the directions were clear and easy to follow. It took my husband and I about an hour and a half to complete the job. We are really very pleased with this table. It holds all the little things that clutter spaces that are used in multi purpose areas like our TV/computer room. We love it!
