Didn’t match what my parts looked like so I just assumed how it went together. It’s definitely a 2 person job. My little 5’3” ass had a difficult time lifting the umbrella onto the stand. It would have also been nice for the instructions to tell me to open the umbrella and remove the packing before installing but the instructions say to leave it all closed up until it’s fully installed. I open it up and there are small squares of bubble wrap taped to the frame of the umbrella. I had to use my disability grabber to pull them off. Huge inconvenience for short people.
Update. Down to 4 stars- I still really like it but the cantilever locking mechanism slides down when it gets hot out.
I have seen a couple reviews where they complain about the base, but if you are just going to build it into a wall (what I did) or put it in concrete in the ground this is the one. And honestly if I may suggest--skip the $500 ones and pay someone to install it. Mine is in the wall, collared at the top so it cant come out, resting on the base so it can swivel 360 degrees. If I didnt have a handy wall, Id have put it in concrete in the ground but in that case Id be more limited in my swivel.
Cheap, sturdy, easy to use, the lights are built into the rails, and they stay on all night from a charge.
Reasons it doesnt get 5 overall (the solar panel is really hard to put in (enough that I was worried I would break it putting it in) and the color is off. I ordered Maroon, and its closer to Ferrari red. Shrug. When the material dies in the AZ sun Ill pick a fabric in the exact color I want and use the frame.
