This monster was extremely hard to put together. It took my husband and a friend of his over 10 HOURS to build. The instructions aren't very clear and they had to figure out a lot of things on their own because things weren't properly labeled. Like most manuals, the directions are pictures only which is a breeze when you're putting together a chair, but written instructions would have aided this progress tremendously. One piece came damanged and it's super noticeable because of it's placement on the bed. My kids didn't mind, but I expected the parts to be in good condition upon arrival. The bottom two drawers are actually one large drawer on wheels not supported by a track. So you cannot pull out one drawer at a time. The stair case is very narrow, great for SMALL children. Beware, if you plan on making the bottom a full read the directions carefully, there are additional steps required.
My husband noticed several cracks in the headboard part when he got it out of the box. Because it was a Christmas gift that needed to be assembled for Christmas morning to keep from disappointing two little boys, we didn’t try to send it back right away.
After the assembly we noticed that the 4 corner posts have started pulling away from the rest of the bed. The quality and sturdiness is very poor. I am afraid that my child will be injured sleeping on this bed, but it’s already put together and the shipping boxes are destroyed, so what’s a person to do?
Also the wooden slats that lay under the mattress, are “bowed” from the weight of a very light weight mattress.
Its overall a nice bed. Some of the pieces had some marks and scratches. But the main reason for my 3 star review is the chemical smell that is lingering in the room after putting it up. It's been a week and I can still smell it strongly from down the hall. I do t understand where it could come from or how to get rid of it but I'm very disappointed in that.
Ugh! I love the design of this bed. So functional!! I felt so much better sending my daughter up a set of stairs at night rather than a ladder, and we really needed the extra drawers--which glided open and close quite well. And it *seems* so sturdy when you put it together. It's heavy and fits together well.
But here are the problems: It takes FOREVER to set up. My husband and I together spent an entire weekend on it. Unfortunately, it's not worth the effort, either. The product is ultimately unsafe. If it didn't take so darn long to put together, I'd have disassembled them and sent them back in a heartbeat when--within the first THREE MONTHS--the bottom of my son's (bottom) bunk just gave out. Seriously, just broke. The heavy, solid-looking support beam running vertically from the top to the bottom of the frame snapped in half, causing several of the horizontal "ribs" it was supporting to snap in half as well. Mind you, my son was 3 years old and weighed less than 40 lbs. I ended up just putting a boxspring on it, but that gives him such little headroom that he bumps his head on the top bunk all the time. He says he hates sleeping on that side of the bed anyway because he's afraid his sister's bed will "fall on me in the night," and I frankly don't blame him. If you're thinking of getting the drawers underneath, note that they're not on wheels or anything, they just slide along the floor. Skip those and just get underbed bins somewhere, cuz the drawers fall apart--plus they'll scratch your floors if you have hardwood.
We're moving, and I'm not taking these. I don't even dare to sell them or give them away because they're unsafe. That's a lot of money in the trash. We will have owned these for less than 2 years.

Poor Quality Christmas Gift!

Wooden slats broke
The wooden slats have broke many times. Not a strong enough wood.

Do no recommend
This bed looks nothing like the picture they showed. The material is very fragile. I am not pleased with it. I wish I had never bought this bed.
It’s garbage sticking it outside for you again
Take this off of please
My son cried.
Only received half a bed.
Disappointed.
Only received 2 boxes. Missing parts and a difficult process to complete the missing items.
