Well made. It was just what I wanted. I waited several months to write this review. The bed is awesome! Its simple to assemble, saves space, great price and my son loves it. I would definitely recommend.
Although I trust the bed wont fall a apart, it feels very unsturdy when getting in and out of bed as well as when rolling over. Its also super squeaky. On the upside, it gets my bed off the floor and makes a ton of space in my chicago micro studio apartment. Its fine.
I split time between cities in two separate condos. Space is extremely important in the smaller one. So, I got the idea in my head of buying a loft bed.
Putting this loft bed together is no walk in the park. This is ideally a 2/3 person job. I ended up putting it together alone and it took me nearly 4 hours to complete.
When youre putting this together, as other reviews have stated, do NOT fully tighten any of the bolts right away. This entire frame is a hair off, which makes fitting some pieces, extremely hard.
Once this is put together, its both sturdy and not at the same time. For one person, its fine. Its going to creak and flex, but it wont move much. However, if you ever plan to have two people in it, you had better not be moving much because it will absolutely sway.
The ladder will kill your feet. Order or have pool noodles on hand. Trust me on this.
Overall, look, its a budget loft bed so expectations need to be tempered. Youre getting a lot of material for the cost of this bed. So, given the cost and materials, theres going to be trade/offs.
Would I buy this again? No, I wouldnt. However, as I typed that I have to admit I still like a lot about it and its fun to sleep so high up.
In the end, if you buy this, expect the following:
1. It will creak.
2. It will sway a bit.
3. You will need to check the bolts occasionally.
4. This is not going to be a several year bed; the materials are just too light and somewhat flimsy.
5. Expect the bed to shift around a bit as you move around.
6. If your ceilings are under 9 foot tall, dont buy this if youre at all claustrophobic.
7. Get pool noodles for the stairs.
8. Its will seem far bigger than the measurements.
9. Making the bed is time consuming so dont waste your time trying, more than 1/2 times as week.
10. This can support 300 pounds, but its going to let you know about those 300 pounds.
If you have the right expectations for this, having a loft is really neat. However, Id suggest you really put some thought into it before going down this road.
This loft is absolutely worth the cost for what you get, but what you get falls short of ideal.
In the end, there are better options if youre willing to expand your search outside of budget options.
3 stars
Cheers! Ok ok
EDIT: I tried to move with this. Multiple screws got stuck in their sockets, with the sockets spinning freely in the poles of the bed, meaning the pieces could not be taken apart. Also, some of the screws were bent when I took them out. I would not buy this hoping to ever disassemble and reassemble it.
This came together in about an hour with two people. You probably need two people to get the mattress on top. Its a little wobbly, I sleep on it at 130 lb, havent tried having someone else up there and wouldnt do anything athletic on it. I tightened everything down after sleeping on it for a month, and that helped with the wobbliness. I havent experienced what some reviewers say about the ladder being uncomfortable, but I will warn you against going up and down it in socks.

Its very important to weigh the pros and cons before buying this bed

Does not disassemble for moving
