I am absolutely impressed with these waders. I needed to purchase some because I was tired of getting wet while attaching my boat to the trailer especially during these colder months. Im not using these to be in the water for long periods of time. I may choose to wear them while in the boat to help with wind block and possible rain.
I had to drain a small swamp for work. Originally a stormwater run/off pond, it hadnt drained properly in years. Over 3 days, I spent a lot of time in there, up to my diaphragm in water and my thighs in mud at some points. This kept that awful, foul muck from ever touching me, and protected me from the leeches I discovered on the final day. Sizing is a bit wonky. I got the ones with size 11 boots, and it was built for Slenderman, extra tall with skinny legs. I have thick, muscular calves because I spend a lot of time going up and down ladders and slopes. I had to take my pants off to wear these, or theyd roll and bunch up at my knees. Also, they have zero insulation value. You can feel the water through them, like getting your hands wet with tight latex gloves on. Other than that, they were great.
They seem to run a little slim. Kind of tight around the calves and thighs. Not enough room for thermals or sweats underneath. You may want to size up if you have thick legs like me.
I really liked them and they kept me dry but then I lunged onto a raft and they got a hole in them. Probably would last a lot longer without the rough housing but they did a great job of keeping the other people wearing them dry the whole night!
