In fact, I was strongly considering getting rid of the Sleep Number bed altogether. However, after placing it on this platform the difference was outstanding. This bed provided the firmness and stability that I was looking for all along. I was even able to attach my original headboard with a little handy work. This platform has made all of the difference and will serve well with any style mattress. Its solid once assembled and looks good while providing ample storage. Again, this is a good buy for the money! I would recommend it to those who are looking for a more supportive feel and dont want to spend a ton of money on a solid wood set.
I must admit, I should have looked before I leaped. I jumped when I saw the price. And I couldnt wait to place the order. But then I read some of the negative reviews. I should have read them first. Then my wife asked, How are they going to ship that? Its going to be very heavy. Within hours I asked to cancel. said I had waited too long to request cancellation, though it took five days before the item was actually shipped and more days and days before it arrived. It was in very poor shape. I posted two pictures above here to show what the package looked like on arrival... the boxes are mutilated, stressed, beaten up. You can see drag marks and pokes. The taping is torn apart. In short, it was too heavy for the packaging.
, however, is GREAT! They contacted UPS for next-day pickup of the damaged goods and set up a prompt full refund.
My advice to you as a potential buyer is to READ THE REVIEWS FIRST. Then think about whether this size and weight package should be sent by way of a shipper whose emphasis is on speed. UPS is a FABULOUS shipper. I have never had any complaints. But this item may stretch UPS abilities.
Again, remains my first choice as supplier of virtually everything, from books to car parts to bedding to soap. And UPS is the best. provides good tools to evaluate purchases. Use them to get the best service possible. Read the reviews! I didnt and though is doing its best to make things right, I should have followed my own advice first.

It serves its purpose but the slats are too small and you frequently have to lift the mattress to put them back in place. It looks nice and has 6 drawers which come in handy, plus it looks good in any bedroom. It was shipped without directions (by mistake from the shipper) but I had them emailed to me. It takes a while to put together but even after it is complete (checked multiple times), the slats still never stay in place. Also there is no head board or baseboard which were clear before ordering but I guess you get what you pay for.
This bed is perfect for for my very tall son. He wanted more room in his bedroom, so we sold his old bed and ordered this in XL Twin. Easy to put together, did it in about 1 hour with help of my daughter. Directions were very clear and easy to follow. This will work for my son for the next four yrs of high school.
You cant expect furniture-store beds from a box, no its not real wood. We were replacing a broken bed very similar but without drawers and it is just as good quality. We are in a small apartment and needed storage space so this was a great way for us to create extra storage. (Also ordered the headboard). Its sturdy and had no problems with parts not fitting together or misaligned. You do have to make sure the bed is completely straight for the drawers to close flush against the bed (especially after scooting or moving the bed). So Im happy and wasnt expecting some $1000+ bed from a box, I knew it would be cheaper materials, thats what you get when your bed comes in a box you build yourself. I recommend this bed especially if you are short on space.
My husband put this together with minimal cursing. Its better to have 2 people to actually assemble the pieces once they are preped. He accidentally knocked over one of the pieces he was trying to assemble and it chipped the corner, right where you need to join 2 pieces. He was able to fix this by sinking drywall screws into the broken piece. Other than that it is a very sturdy bed. Perfect for my 13 year old son.
This bed frame is inexpensive but you get what you pay for. The bed is a pain to assemble and align so the drawers will slide correctly. I had to rebuild the bed for my son of 200 pounds after just a few weeks to strengthen the rails that hold the slats at the top and bottom of the bed. I also have to add 2 other metals straps to hold the foot board to the headboard so the slats would stay in place. 2 of the drawer slides were
defective but I was able to repair them myself. This bed might work better for a light weight person or child.

The instructions were easy to follow and considering the amount of pieces it came in, it went very fast! All of the holes lined up well. We had a problem with some of the drawers not being completely square- but Im willing to accept that as our fault.

The bed is more or less attractive, relatively simple to assemble, utilitarian without being plain, and inexpensive for the high quality of its construction. But for all that savings, the cost is in its finicky, easily-misaligned or broken drawers, which are of course the main reason to purchase a bed of this design. A nice starter/apartment bed, but hardly anything special.
