Beware getting this great bed from the warehouse

If I had been sent the instructions and THE WHOLE BED, I would have given this at least 4 stars. BE CAREFUL getting this bed from Warehouse. It said it was, like/new well, I guess their idea of like new is to send the bed in a damaged box and missing pieces. I will say that I was refunded immediately. Im sure if you get this bed new from there will be a complete bed for you, i hope.

    mostly because of size confusion.

the only thing that was confusing was the size of the bunk bed, not clearly specified, I was really looking to buy full and I ended up getting a twin size. With no time to return or exchange due to having family arriving had to just keep it.

Sturdy and attractive, but received with no hardware and bottom bunk has low clearance

We received the package promptly and in good shape thanks to . However, there was no hardware included whatsoever. I called and let know and they shipped it out within a couple of days, but didnt apologize or seemed surprised at all which leads me to believe this isnt all that unusual. Boo for poor quality control and customer service reps with no personality. The bed is sturdy and the blue is very nice / not really dark enough to be navy, but a nice medium blue. My kids are young so I like that this bed is a lower profile than some others. I am 5 3 and can kiss my older daughter goodnight when she is tucked into the top bunk. This comes at a price though. The bottom bunk is very close to the top. They are pretty sandwiched together, in fact. It is annoying to not be able to sit up very much in the bottom bunk and it is a major pain to make that bed. I saw a low profile bunk bed at Ikea (the Tromso) that was about the same height, but allowed for much more room between the bottom and top bunks because the bottom bed was positioned significantly lower. Then again, that bed could not be separated to use as two freestanding beds. The Tromso would have been more convenient, but didnt look as nice as this one. Still, at times I have regretted my choice. This issue doesnt seem to bother the kids, but irritates me and might be a comfort issue for a larger child. Another reviewer had mentioned the top bunks raw wood slat base being a safety issue for the child on the bottom bunk. We also felt this could be a potential problem, but it was easily solved for about 12 spent at Home Depot. My husband cut and neatly nailed three MDF boards to the slats so there is no danger of whacking your head on the sharp corner of one of the exposed slats as you get in or out of the bottom bunk. It looks much neater too. In summary, this bed is very sturdy and nice looking, but isnt perfect.

Didnt Last 6 months / waste of money.

They were just what we were looking for . up until about 6 months after purchase. We were using them as seperate beds and the bed that was techinically the bottom bunk just broke when my 3 year old sat on it. She only weighs 30lbs and we do not allow any jumping on the beds or rough housing. I cant believe itThank goodness she wasnt injured and we werent using as the traditional bunk beds because both her and my son could have been seriously injured. Such a shame because they had a great look and were affordable. But I guess it is really what you pay for. And naturally I cant return because it is outside of the return window and I have had no luck getting ahold of a human at the manufacturer.

Adequate (Yes I would buy another one)

I purchased the `white bunk bed. All painted surfaces were in good condition. The product was well packaged (came in two boxes). The bed is sturdy and made with adequately strong materials for children. The ladder creaks when I put weight on it (200 lbs). During assembly I experienced the following challenges. I should note that I have a lot of experience assembling furniture (I assembled all of the floor displays at a Wal/Mart) for a couple years) (1) Poorly and inconsistently labeled parts. The wood pieces should be labeled (as claimed to be) because they look similar. I was able to differentiate parts from the diagrams in the directions. Pay particular attention to drill holes during assembly. As well, the hardware list in the directions was not entirely clear because the diagram showing the hardware was not drawn to scale. This would greatly help when determining which (of three) wood screws to use for example. (2) One of the safety rails on the upper bunk had a miss/aligned drill/hole (middle of the rail). This was easily overcome because the wood/screw easily self/taped into the wood. This would be a greater problem if one of the critical points at the rail/ends were miss/aligned. In addition, the bed does have a critical safety deficiency to be evaluated. The two bunks are only secured at one corner of the bed (at the ladder). The four corner rails are not securely attached; they are attached with a loose/fitting steel dowel only. I thought that this was quite unsafe (especially for small children). I was able to easily solve the problem with a simple flat steel bracket and some wood screws at the remaining 3 corner posts (luckily I had the hard/ware on hand). Im sure that could come up with a more elegant solution for little to no significant cost. You may think that I am being over cautious but within minutes of finishing assembly and showing my kids, my (less than sober) father in/law climbed up to the top bunk and then vaulted off causing the whole thing to rock off the floor. If I had not secured the corner posts it could easily have jumped off the dowels and possibly collapsed. Still, the finished product is attractive and safe (with my alterations). I would recommend it to a friend but only if I could help them assemble it. 3 of 5 stars.

Product came in sooooo many parts. WOW i felt like a carpenter.

This product is ok but I have to do modification to it. I should have to. I am waiting for replacement parts. Screws came strips and who ever made it needs to get fired for lack of attention to detail. I spend 205 on this bed and thats not cheap so getting what you paid does not go here. I expected better from which is a good company. UNSAT to your builders.

Defective parts. Lousy paint. Parts dont fit.

It came in two boxes. In the first one there were planks that go under the mattress / their ends were very rough, but I thought that it will not be visible and is not a problem for structural integrity / though I wanted the bed to be nice as it was for my daughters. I continued with the assembly. Do you know the IKEA quality? This is much worse. The dowels were very loose and were falling out by themselves, the edges were rough or even chipped. The paint is very thin (the wood texture is visible through) and poor (in the photo you can see what seems to be a defect in the wood they fixed and glued, but the glue got through the paint). It looked uglyOne of the headboards did not fit at all / the difference was about a 1/4 of an inch (see photo). As I figured in about 15 minutes / the parts it was made of were not glued together properly. I hammered it in for 1/8 that allowed to insert the loosely fitting dowels. I was getting mad, but still hoped it would be OK. But then I got to the climbing ladder wood piece that would hold a climbing child / it was split at its edge (see photo)I did not want to take any chances with the safety of my kids. It took me about an hour and a half to disassemble and put everything in the boxes, so that the boxes would close. Very disappointed!

Items missing and too hard to assemble

This bunkbed came in one box with several, several pieces of the headboard missing along with other items. does not have a customer service phone number to call and ask if they could just ship these itiems so I requested to return it along with emailing them a complaint about the missing items. I scheduled a return pick up for UPS to pick up the box, and had it on my front porch for 3 days. UPS put a missed pick up label on my door 3 times as they walked right past the box and did not pick it up. Next thing I know I have 3 more boxes waiting for me at my Apartment office. It seems they sent me the missing parts but failed to tell me soI had to just guess on what was going on. I am returning everything and will only shop here for things I cannot find other wise . com is not easy to use and offers no customer service There was SO many pieces to assemble it would have taken me days to get it done WAY TOO many peices

Nuts and Bolts Do Not Fit

Although the bed is solid once you finally put it together, putting it together is a disaster. Approximately four of the long bolt/nut combos stripped. I had to go to Home Depot and find replacements. The other option which I also did was use a washer even though this meant the bolt was not flush as designed. Additionally, none of the nuts on the small bolt/nut combo actually sunk far enough into the bed railing so you could screw the bolt in. I literally had to drill all the way through the side of eight holes to make this finally work. So basically the bed is now a hodgepodge of parts, holes, and fittings. This is completely ridiculous and ends up wasting countless hours trying to sort it all out. Just not worth it. Someone from should put together one of their own beds. Might highlight some glaring issues with what could be a 4/5 star bed for the price.

not able to separate keep rails in place

Nice bed but if you are looking to separate the beds use the top bed with railings for a toddler, this is not the bed for you as the ladder is attached to the entire side rail.
