This was a replacement day bed for a metal one that fell apart on us too soon. We love this one. It's sturdy and lower to the ground making it more comfortable. Our trundle still fits underneath. I highly recommend this !
Other than being a difficult assembly (I knew from other reviews this would be the case!), this is a fine daybed. We ended up using masking tape to stabilize the spindles since that was really hard keeping them in the holes while you put the rest of them together. I was worried about it peeling off the paint, but we used it sparingly and gently removed it. I also used tape in the holes in addition to the Styrofoam pieces to help them stay put. Don't expect them to go together the first time!
This is quite a nice daybed. Having read many reviews, I knew putting the slats in would be tricky. The bungee cord trick worked nicely in holding it together until we fully had it installed.
Without 8 hands and 3 extra people, the bungee cords were the magic helpers.
A very nice little day bed, but definitely tricky to put together and a two person job. Also, it fits only a mattress no box spring which makes it a bit stiff to sleep on. I would buy one again though and recommend it for someone wanting a handsome daybed for a spare room.
Yu need to be MORE specific about why two people are needed to put the daybed together. At one point we had to tie parts together because even two people couldn't continue.
Excellent buy. This is an extremely inexpensive piece of furniture. You cannot go anywhere else (except second hand store) and find a wood daybed for under 200-300$. A few reviews said the daybed was flimsy, or not well made. I do not agree. For under 200$ you get a nice looking daybed that feels 100% stable. One person can sleep comfortably, or two people can sit like on a sofa. The finish will scratch easy so be sure to lay down a blanket or put together on carpet.
I purchased a 10 inch thick, twin size, memory foam mattress that fits very well. We are using this as a spare bed.
Overall the daybed was relatively easy for two people to put together. Similar to Ikea assembly. It took us roughly an hour or two. Shipping was fast.

It takes two to put this together, but I am very happy with the bed. It lookes great, all wood and the stain was even.
