Its a nice finish. Sturdy. Wood (not MDF). No out-gassing I can detect. Assembly took about an hour. A ratchet with a hex bit and a screw gun speed things along. The individual balusters are a bit finicky to position. Overall a very good product at a fair price compared to other day beds I have seen.
If you are looking for a an occasional use bed in a spare room - this is a smart choice.
I bought 2 of these daybeds for a guest room, and bought day bed linens, and I love the look. The wood frames are very sturdy, and look and feel much more expensive than I paid. Assembly by my adult son was challenging because there are so many pieces but it just takes patience rather than brains. All the pieces arrived quickly with no damage. The box is very heavy. My guest room is so pretty - I love it.
Easily assembled, clean and classic piece of furniture. The trundle itself has kind of iffy wheels that make it less than easy to get back into place, but for the frequency that we use the trundle, its workable.
I was amazed at how easily I was able to assemble this bed frame (with NO help from my husband)! It took me about 1 hour to assemble and I could not be more happy with the finished product. The wood is of great quality, beautiful coloration and extremely well made. I love that there is enough space between the floor and the bottom of the bed to slide storage bins underneath; the height is 13 from the floor to the bottom of the bed and I was easily able to slide storage bins that are 11 in height underneath.
I gave this product 4 stars because my instructions were not in English. Other than that it is a nice unit. The bed is a little tricky to put together but goes together in about 2 hours with a few breaks to decipher the instructions. It seems sturdy enough and looks nice. There were no missing parts and everything fit the way it was supposed to.

Simple build and seems pretty solid. TIm ewill tell, but so far it seems like a good purchase.
