Firm, Thick, Looks Feels High Quality

Ive been looking for a really good outdoor cushion, that is stylish enough to go inside, is comfortable, and will last. I was really excited when I saw this as possibly the perfect solution that I have been picturing. I showed it to my wife, and it was an easy pick. This is thick, dense so you dont sink right through fluff, and the material looks and feels high quality. This is definitely nicer than our existing cushions. You could actually lay this flat and sleep on it. Its firm, thick, wide, and long. All you need is a pillow and blanket . Dont get me wrong, it isnt soft cozy, just sturdy nice. To tell you the truth, I actually use this inside. I keep it folded at the seam behind a chair, and it looks nice enough that it doesnt stand out. I pull it out when Im tired or have a headache and want to lay down where my little dog is running around so he can come lay next to me. He isnt allowed on furniture, and is small enough he doesnt jump up on any, and loves to be with us. Laying on our tile floors is quite uncomfortable. So I lay this flat, and I fit entirely on it, and he comes and lays next to me or curls up on it by my feet, or chews his toys next to me. This is working perfectly. I was actually just thinking earlier today that a guest could actually sleep on this. So I can attest it is good enough to be used inside . There are only 2 possible drawbacks. At first the foam has an odor, which is pronounced because the back is near your head. Just leave it outside or in the garage for a few days, and then it is fine, and Im pretty sensitive to smells. Second, the only weak point of construction is the plastic clasps themselves that allow you to easily secure it to the furniture. If you have a dog, who likes to pull on strings and ropes, the clasp didnt last past one attempt when he got his mouth directly on it. We did spray it with bitter apple repellent. I suppose if it were metal, it would rust if outside. You can just pin it if the plastic clasp is lost to a dog.

    Comfortable and firm

This arrived just in time for me to enjoy sitting on my patio at the beginning of fine spring weather. The cushions are very comfortable and firm. I chose the beige covers so I can accent with a variety of other colors. The set seems like it is high quality and I hope this will last for years with good care.

Even the cat wants to sleep on this cushion!

The cushion is more comfortable than it looks / its firm, but has enough give to be comfortable for longer periods. I like the brown color and it blends well with a dark wood . Unfortunately, my ancient chair actually broke irreparably the first time I used this cushion. I currently have this just on the concrete pool decking until I replace the chair. Ive found the cat curled up on it for the last three afternoons. My theory is, if the cat likes it, then it must comfy.

Water and Stain Resistant Comfortable Cushion/Cover

I really like that it is , and does not not soak up the water, so that you can use it even after the rain. Cushion is firm and comfortable with 3 inch thickness. The cushion comes compressed, so you need 2 people to put the cover on. How weatherproof it is in Michigan winter, is something that I will find out after the next winter. And if it holds up, then the extra expense will be worth it.

A bit pricey but great quality

This has 3 components / 2 pieces of foam plus slipcover. The foam is normal foam, same as your local hobby store. What youre really paying for is the slipcover, which is exceptional quality. Its a great color, fade resistant, waterproof, and durable. It has straps to stay on the chair, just a really thoughtful design. My only warning is its best to put the foam in the slipcover before it fully inflates, because its a snug fit. We thought the packaging smelled a little bit like plastics, so we set the foam in the sun for a bit. Well we must have accidentally punctured the vacuum/seal because it became fully inflated, and was a bit difficult to wrestle into the slipcover.

    Plush Padding Promised

The lawn has turned from its winter brown to a deep verdant and the early bulbs have flowered in an explosion of soft colors; surely, summer is on the way! This means that the patio furniture is coming out of hibernation with promises of lounging outside on warm summer evenings, stretched out on the lounge with an icy/cold beverage. An improvement I have wanted to make for years is a nice cushion set that can stand up to the elements without turning to trash at the end of one season and the Montlake fits the bill on every account. From the packaging to the comfort of the cushion on the lounge chair, this pad promises and delivers a premium experience. Youll notice the attention to detail immediately when you insert the foam into the cover. Quality zippers tuck into a sleeve to seal them from the rain. The stitching is straight and the cover fits like a glove in quality outdoor fabric. Classic promises that the color will not readily fade after a season so Ill have to see after months under the Idaho skies. Unlike cheaper cushions that provide some loose ties so that you can knot them around the frame of your lounge chair, the Montlake provides a pair of adjustable nylon clips to secure the cushion. If I had one criticism, it would be that the upper cushion could use a pair of clips as well to prevent it from flopping over. Comfort is why you purchase padding for your patio furniture and the Montlake delivers on this count as well. Approximately three inches thick, the pad is firm enough not to give you that ‘sinking feeling and soft enough for the perfect nap. Like the fading of the fabric, a season or two of use will give a better perspective on how well the padding will stand up but as of today, I feel pretty good about this product.

    High Quality Looking Materials.

covers are well made and at a good price. I have found them last many years if properly cared for. Leaving them out in the sun and elements all year long really puts them to the test. If they are under a roof they last many times longer. The review sample for this Montlake series cushion came is a large box packaged within yet another even larger box. I was surprised at how small the actual vacuum packed product was once the boxes were opened. This is the first more than a cover item I have seen from , but I can see the natural progression of why they would offer a foam cushion to their lineup. The cushion is impressive. I like the design and finished product once you get it assembled. It doesnt take long for the foam core to loft fully. I would say be ready to insert it into the cover right after you open it. No big deal if you dont however as with a little effort it can be removed and re/inserted later. You just have to work methodically and around the edges slowly to get it out or back in. I am curious as to how well this will perform and handle water over time. It looks top quality and Im sure it will probably perform just as well or better than any other cushion on the market. I know their covers are very durable, but they dont get sat on typically so this will be exposed to more than just the elements. How well it handles the use combined with the elements will be the true test. Anyways, so far it looks great. Im looking forward to see how well it holds up over this summer season. Initial impressions, first look. 5 stars.

Only time will tell / but 5 stars for now

We have a large yard and have had many outdoor and chair cushions over the years. We live in Southern California where the weather is for the most part temperate but the sun pretty much bakes everything outside. We dont have a lot of rain, but this year we did. I have found that our outdoor cushions usually last a year or so. I am hoping and thinking that these might be the exception. They come rolled up (like some mattresses do nowadays) and you are told to be sure to open their wrapping up with a scissors / not box cutters / so that they can unroll and you wont cut the material. They easily opened up flat. You are also told to immediately put the cover on because the cushions will inflate over a 24 hour period. I thought I could put the cover on easily by myself but my husband came over to help me. I think I probably couldve done it on my own but he started laughing when he saw me wresting with the thing so he mercifully helped and held it down while I zipped it in place. I did not notice any odor from the cushion. I also did not particular notice the cushion swell up much after 24 hours; it seemed to fill up the cover right away but there must have been a little bit of swelling that occurred. (You are told that you can adjust the cover AFTER the 24 hours.) The cushion itself is extremely comfortable and adjusts easily to a variety of shapes. It has snaps that can keep it in place. This feels thicker and more durable than any cushion weve had in the past. So the question is, is it? And to that I can only say that time will tell. I will definitely come back and edit this review if we have any problems with this cushion or if it starts to show any premature wear and tear or if it starts to retain rain/water. Its a little pricier than most cushions on the market, but its definitely more comfortable and plush than others weve had and if its more durable then its worth the cost.
