My wife and I bought a metal frame bunk bed (twin over full that could be converted into a futon) about a year ago from a different company. The metal material used to make the bottom bunk frame buckled after the first day from lack of proper support and the heat (we live in Florida and it was particularly hot that day).
We originally wanted a wooden frame bunk bed at the time (thats what I grew up with myself and loved it), but that was all we could afford, so we did what we could to keep the frame supported and it worked for a year or so.
Then we found this bunk bed, perfect pricing for our budget and looked to be extremely sturdy wood construction material.
When we received it on our front porch, the box looked like it had been through some trouble during shipping and I was worried about parts being broken or missing (not the fault of the company, but just something that happens in delivery sometimes). But I much to my happiness, when I opened the packaging EVERYTHING was in there and no damage or missing parts at all. The wood looked and felt incredibly solid (not particle board like you see in most furniture these days).
Setting out to put it together after a long workweek (this was late Friday night) and my wife and I were tired, but determined. The instructions were very clear but in my tired hastiness I missed a step and we ended up having to take some parts off and put them back in their proper place again; mainly the railing sides due to the openings for attaching the ladder to the frame.
This of course was completely MY error. That being said, when we finally got it together, my children (two boys, 6 and 10) loved it (as well as our cat who thinks its as much hers as it is my 6 year olds, lol). Its easily one of the nicest piece of furniture we own now, and couldnt recommend it more to anyone on the fence about purchasing it! You WILL NOT be dissappointed!
Very good quality, nice color, strong, beautiful design, comes very well packaged, instructions are very clear. It is a very good product. My sons love it!
This is just like pictured and my 3 year old is absolutely thrilled. It does take quite a bit of time to assemble-it was a 6-7 hour project for my husband by himself though I did have to hold things for final assembly. Its overall sturdy and does sway a little easily if moving around a lot on the top bunk.
I was looking for something simple and black. Hard to find separate beds that look like these so I went with the bunk beds and separated. They a great! Kids love them as well. The screws were a bit tuff to get in, in some areas of the headboard but nothing I couldnt handle on my own.
The screws supplied for the two little vertical bars that tie together the middle of the safety rails on the top bunk are too short. I had to buy 8 x 1-1/2 inch screws to properly fasten those two parts. See picture.
The Allen/hex key that comes with the kit is rubbish and started to strip out some of the screw heads. Fortunately I had a proper 3mm one that saved the day.
The wood had one saw mark and some other dings and scratches. I was mostly able to hide these imperfections by making those pieces face the wall. I recommend the plain unstained/natural look because these imperfections are less noticeable.
In my opinion, the beds need more cross slats to support the mattress. They didnt break, but the mattress did sag between slats. So I bought more for about $50 from the Wood to the World store on , product title Bed Slats Solid Pine Wood Slats Twin Bed Mattress Support Wooden Slats 39 in Long x 2.75 in Wide x 0.65 in Depth Pack of 13 Count Single Bed Replacement Parts Custom Size Cutting Service (Twin 39 in). They look identical and came with screws. I probably could have used shorter than 39 inch slats, but I got them a little long and cut them myself.
Perfect but took more than a month to get here, we almost cancelled it more than once but waited because we bought it on sale and it was a good price. The bed is super sturdy, looks pretty, good height and quality too.

Great with some tweaks: Needs more slats
