This desk is in a small bedroom where space is tight but a work surface with a reasonable depth was important. The built in shelves replace a separate bookcase and provide a decent amount of space. Moreover, it can be assembled in either direction, which is unusual for compact desks at this price point. The materials and hardware are decent and everything assembled easily. A final bonus is that the metal parts are magnetic, allowing magnet-backed hooks, pictures, etc. to be added easily.
I bought this for a sewing table but I will now use it as a desk because it has 3 shelves I can store supplies on or use them as a bookcase. Very sturdy. VERY ez to put together and slide around. I move the tables so often, I will be putting the little plastic moving discs under the adjustable height feet! So versatile that I may even stack a shorter one on top of the other desk I bought. (I have 3 different sizes!)
When we got it in the mail the bad was disheveled and damaged. We opened it up and there is a gouge near the corner of the desk. I have no desire to try and box this up and return it due to how its boxed and the size of it. So we are stuck with a damaged desk.
Arrived 3 days late, the box it arrived in was practically falling apart with broken Styrofoam falling out everywhere. Damage to the product and missing a lot of pieces including all the screws, end pieces for the legs of the desk and support bars to actually assemble the frame. Never haven't written a negative review before but this is entirely unacceptable and disappointing.
Looks good, fits the space, but the assembly was horrid. A couple of the metal parts can bent and I had to bent them in place or the holes werent located right and I had to bent parts the fit. But I got the job done.
Love the rich looking rustic wood. This desk can accommodate my computer with space still left over to store other things, and it doesn't take up a lot of space. Well built, sturdy.
