This was crazy to assemble and looks nice. It is a little wider than my queen mattress but it leaves room to tuck the sheets and/or comforter. Just lay out all of the parts on the floor in their approximate location and the assembly will go super fast. It only took me a couple hours at most.
This is a wonderful frame. I assembled it solo in about half an hour. It is sturdy and holds a double-sized futon mattress perfectly. The gold is lovely and no chips anywhere.
Pass this one. I bought this frame for my husband and I. At the same time, we also bought a cheaper frame similar to this for my daughter. First out of the box, my husband was saying how the cheaper frame was made of better material. We sat on the bed after assembling and can already see where the legs arent sturdy at all. Were afraid that it might cave in one night when were asleep. We did decide to keep it because shipping took forever and we dont like the hassle of returning things, especially one this large.
The frame is wonderful and I love it. At the time of building it however, one of the poles on the headboard was severely bent, causing insertion into it to be impossible without work. After forcing it open, (was difficult, but thats reassuring to the sturdiness of the frame), the rest of assembly was simple. The frame is very supportive, my mattress (very heavy), myself (also very heavy), my best friend, her son, and my boyfriend were all sitting on it with no signs of fragility.
I loved how easy to put together this bed frame was. It is very sturdy and the metal slats are enough to hold a memory foam mattress sturdily without it sinking through or anything! Its also beautiful so Im very happy with this purchase.
The only thing that threw me off was the fact that the frame is more of a yellow gold rather than a gold gold. Other than that everything is working great! Slept on it for the first time last night and it feels very sturdy
