Heavy box! Definitely have 2 people to put together. If its just one of you though, its manageable. Easy directions to follow. Ladder is a bit unsteady - they feel loose but they arent. Over all great buy! Had it together in a couple of hours.
The bed is great for small children. Is not too high and easy to climb. It needs to be assembled piece by piece. Its crazy. It also has plastic reinforcement I guess is for the metal noice. They fall off as soon as the kids climb on the bed.
Everything is labeled, the only thing I found difficult assembly wise was the direction of some of the pieces I accidentally put one piece in upside down and I had to take the entire thing apart to get to that piece. I didnt find any scratches on anything everything was packaged extremely well. Its not the most sturdy bed I slept on the top the first night we had it just to see how it was going to be before I let the kids sleep on it. But every time the bottom was bumped or somebody moved I definitely felt it on the top. The side rails are sturdy enough if you dont use them to climb on I could see that they would bend if you were to sit on them The front and bottom are a little more sturdy than the sides but they do their job to keep you in place while you sleep. I bought an 8-in mattress to put on the top Its probably a little bit too much mattress for the bed because it doesnt give you much of a side rail for protection if youre worried about your child falling out I would go with maybe a 6-in mattress. But all in all for the money, Im very happy with this bed.
