I purchased a sofa/chaise for my small living room and most coffee tables were too big. This ottoman was the perfect size to fit in the L shape of the sofa. I purchased a decorative round wooden tray to set on top of it to hold a few decorative pieces or remote controls. The storage capacity is just right for a afghan or throw, or as a place to throw toys when company shows up unexpectedly.
