We love the antique look of the bed. Putting it together - was not easy. The rods for mattress support were too long, so we had to re-drill holes in the frame to attach them. Now that it's together, it's sturdy and we like it. Husband and wife project and we're both alive after it, so not too bad.
My beds are nice, but one box was opened on the end and headboard was scratched, legs of headboard were bent in, my son came over to pry the legs into the headboard that was bent. I just didn't want to go through the hassle of sending the one bed back. But the other bed which is identical was perfect Box wasn't damaged Other than that one being damaged their really nice beds.
It was great for the first week, quiet and sturdy. Then it started to squeak. And then it started to wobble. Even after retightening the bolts and adding foam it still squeaked. It also does NOT hold up to adults having sexy time. Straight up bent the leg and frame right in half. Not even on a joint, legit broke the main frame bar directly in half. Good for decoration, not for actual use

Unless you have a 4 mattress a regular mattress hides the vertical metal bars and doesn't look as nice with just the top metal bar showing.
